Hey, what’s up?
That Lionel Messi is multifaceted and one of the best football players of the century, we already know. What few people know is that the Argentine player recently announced the launch of a new ecological collection of clothing and accessories, Messi Green, which is made from 100% recycled cotton and produced in Portugal.
The capsule collection is inspired by one of the most beautiful Portuguese landscapes, Vila Franca do Campo, one of the most iconic archipelagos on the island of São Miguel, in the Azores. This is the crater of an old submerged volcano, one of the main attractions of São Miguel, especially since one of the stages of the Red Bull Cliff Diving – the world cliff diving championship – took place there.
The pieces are all in very limited quantities, and once they run out, they probably won’t be produced again. The collection consists of a hooded sweatshirt, t-shirts and pants. The parallel of collab with the Azorean landscape is the island’s natural pool area, which is home to thousands of endangered species, a symbolic reminder that few things on Earth exist in infinite quantities.
According to Ginny Hilfiger, artistic director and founder of Messi Brand, “we wanted to launch this capsule collection to remind our consumers and fans of how important it is that we all do our part to preserve the planet”, he reinforced. Pieces from the new Messi Green collection are available at themessistore.com and cost between $55 and $155.
