The new king of the middle shelf? Here are four things to know about the Huawei nova 9 [TOPtech]

The appearance is definitely a strong point of this model. The display takes almost the entire surface of the smartphone’s front panel, and the backs are covered with glass with an interesting matte texture, which does not collect prints, and at the same time makes the smartphone fit well in the hand.

Nova 9 has OLED screen diagonal 6.57 inches and FullHD + resolution. It looks impressive. Anyway, it could not be otherwise. The use of an OLED matrix is a guarantee of infinite blacks and deep contrast. Added to this is great color reproduction and HDR support.

Nova 9 is also the first Huawei smartphone to feature a 120 Hz screen, which translates into greater smoothness of the image – both in games and during everyday use of the device.

The smartphone has a layout Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G. It is not as efficient as driving the most powerful Huawei models, Kirin 9000, but it definitely does. Everything works smoothly and quickly here. Nova 9 can handle even more advanced applications and games without any problems.

The Huawei device is equipped with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB memoryand user data. Added to this is the support for standards Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. There were many on board NFC.

When it comes to biometrics, we find here both a fingerprint reader placed under the screen and the function of unlocking the screen with a face scan. Both solutions work flawlessly

The heart of the device is the camera. It is a quadruple module AI Quad Camera with the main lens Ultra Vision about resolution 50 megapixels. It has a color filter FISHthanks to which the smartphone can cope better in night conditions.

the remaining three mesh, this lens ultra wide angle, macro lens and depth of field sensor. How does this – impressive on paper – configuration fare in practice?

IN daytime conditions the frames are very sharp and the colors are natural. The lack of artificial color enhancement is something that I have appreciated in Huawei smartphones for a long time. Photos from the lens ultra wide angle they also fall out solidly, and the only disappointment here is the macro eyelet.

I must admit that I was most concerned about night photos. Most mid-range smartphones do not perform well in more difficult lighting conditions.

Fortunately, Nova 9 also comes out of this clash unscathed. Dedicated night mode copes well with sharpening and noise reduction, and the frames are surprisingly detailed. It is a pity that the night mode only supports the main camera lens.

Huawei did not forget, of course, about selfie enthusiasts. Just below the upper edge of the screen you will find a lens with a resolution 32 megapixels with f / 2.0 light, which – like the main camera – can record video in HDR standard and 4K resolution.

Huawei Nova 9 has battery with a capacity of 4300 mAhthat will allow us to work for about a day and a half on a single charge. However, even if the smartphone discharges at the least expected moment, we do not have to worry about it.

In the set with the device we find SuperCharge charger with a power of 66 W, thanks to which the battery from 0 to 100 percent. we will charge it in just 45-50 minutes. If we are in a hurry, the smartphone will be 40 percent charged after a quarter of an hour.

Nova 9 works under system control EMUI in version 12. Using it is smooth and intuitive. I like the clear and minimalist design. We download the applications from the AppGallery store, which Huawei is consistently developing. It is enough to mention that in the last few years it has become the third largest application platform in the world, already used by over 500 million users.

Today, AppGallery has 141 thousand. applications, including 8 thousand. popular applications in Polish, and this catalog is still expanding – recently, incl. for the applications of the largest banks.

Nova 9 is undoubtedly one of the most interesting proposals on the average smartphone shelf. The Huawei device has a great design, an excellent OLED screen with 120 Hz refresh, a strong specification and a versatile camera that can compete with more than one flagship.

We would like to thank HUAWEI POLSKA SP.Z OO for making the smartphone available.
