In the new episodes of the Netflix series, coming in streaming on September 9th, we will see Mike Barnes, the bully played by Sean Kanan in Karate Kid III – The final challenge.
Cobra Kai continues to please fans of the Karate Kid rescuing from the past another well-known and much-awaited character. The new photos of the fifth season spread by Netflix – where the series will return with new episodes next September 9 – confirm the return of Mike Barnes played again by the actor Sean Kanan.
Cobra Kai 5: Bully Mike Barnes is back
As you can see in the image below, Mike Barnes will return to the dojo but we don’t know what circumstances will bring him face to face with his former opponents. The character, a sadistic bully that Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) had hired to terrorize Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio), had appeared in the film Karate Kid III – The final challenge. Fans of Cobra Kai And Karate Kid eagerly awaited his return, especially after the events of the season 4 finale of the series. You will remember, in fact, that the terrible Terry Silver had wrested control of the Cobra Kai dojo from sensei John Kreese (Martin Kove) framing him for attempted murder and having him arrested.
The plot and the previews of the fifth season
In the fifth season of Cobra Kai, the super villain Silver will stop at nothing to win. In the new 10 episodes, therefore, Daniel LaRusso will be committed to stopping his historic antagonist who in the meantime is expanding his empire throughout the city by imposing his “no mercy” style of karate. In another image released by Netflix we see Tory (Peyton List) bring his trophy won by deception into the dojo. But Silver will also be able to rely on new “soldiers”: Alicia Hannah-Kim (pictured below) joined the cast as Kim Da-Eun, a formidable, stern-looking sensei.
And again: we see the former student of Eagle Fang Devon (Oona O’Brien) fight against Tory and then Kenny (Dallas Dupree Young, promoted to regular in the new season) still under the spell of Cobra Kai. Fortunately, Daniel will also have his ace up his sleeve: to stop Silver, in addition to the new alliance with Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) will in fact ask for a hand from his former opponent Chozen Toguchi (Yuji Okumoto, right in the main photo above). Miguel Diaz will also return (Xolo Maridueña), after his trip to Mexico to find his biological father; from the photos, Robby (Tanner Buchanan) doesn’t seem too happy to have his old rival back in the Valley. Finally, the photo in which we see Daniel’s wife, Amanda (Courtney Henggeler), sharing a drink with her husband’s nemesis, Terry Silver – what’s underneath it? Luckily 9th September isn’t that far away and we’ll find out soon.
