The new Super Mario Bros movie delayed to 2023

There Universal Pictures has chosen to postpone the next film dedicated to the famous video game to 2023 Super Mario Bros.

Originally expected on December 21, 2022, the new Super Mario Bros movie now got a new release date at April 7, 2023, which is less than a year from now. The choice, according to The Hollywood Reporter, would derive from the will of Nintendo to obtain a quality film, in such a way as to avoid the economic flop of the first film dated 1993, which was appreciated by the public only after its release on home video.

The new Super Mario Bros movie will be made in live animation, with Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic in the control room, e Matthew Fogel (Minions 2) as writer. There Illumination Entertainment Of Chris Meledandri and Shigeru Miyamoto (creator of the original game) for Nintendo they will handle the production with Universal Pictures.
