The new version of the series changes the showrunner and has a delay

Already in the summer of last year, it was officially announced that the series Bajer from Bel-Air (Fresh Prince of Bel-Air) will get a reboot in a slightly less comedic version. What’s more, representatives of the Peacock streaming platform have announced that this production will be available for at least two seasons.

It might seem that the reboot of the series from years ago, in which Will Smith played the main role, will not face any major obstacles. Unfortunately, according to the website The Hollywood Reporter, the new version of this production has just lost its showrunner. Chris Collins has left the team working on the reboot, and the entire production process is now to take a slightly different direction. Due to these turmoil, the Peacock platform has delayed the launch scheduled for this year. new version Bajeru with Bel-Air it will only make its debut in 2022.

Reboot is definitely not going to be a comedy. This production is based on a video posted on YouTube by Matthew Cooper. It was the video below that inspired Will Smith to revive the series, which originally aired from 1990 to 1996.

Westbrook Studios (owned by Will Smith) and Universal TV are responsible for the creation of this project. The premiere – as we have already mentioned – will take place on the pages of the Peacock platform, which, unfortunately, is not available in Poland.

The original from the 90s told the story of a young man (Will Smith) who was forced to live with his uncle and aunt. Many crazy adventures await him at the Bel-Air residence. This comedy series by Andy Borowitz and Susan Borowitz received as many as six seasons.
