The Radiant of the Arab billionaire Al Futtaim makes a stop in Lipari, one of the seven most expensive yachts in the world

It is one of the seven most expensive private yachts of all time. The “Radiant” makes a stop in the Aeolian Islands, in particular off the coast of Lipari, in the Monte Rosa area. The 110-meter boat is owned Abdulla Al Futtaiman Arab billionaire, but it was built by the Russian tycoon Abramovič Berezovsky.

The vessel was built in the Lurssen shipyard, based in Bremen-Vegesack in northern Germany. A company specializing in the construction of luxury yachts and military ships including the schnellboote made for the Kriegsmarine during the Second World War. Radiant can reach 21 knots of speed. On board there are 10 cabins that can accommodate up to ten people, for which there is a crew of 44 members.

The owner, Abdullah al Futtaim, 82, is the owner of the Dubai-based Al Futtaim group: 20,000 employees across the Middle East and 65 companies with interests in retail, automobile sales (4 out of 10 cars on the roads of the Emirates Arabs come from Al Futtaim), technology and real estate.

But the Arab billionaire’s interests also look to Europe, as he holds the franchise rights for Ikea in Egypt, Oman, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. Hence a net worth that Forbes estimates at two billion dollars.

And always in Monte Rosa there is “Grace“, 82 meters yacht. Built in 2014 by Abeking & Rasmussen, it was owned by the Russian billionaire Alexander Mamut but in 2018 the boat was sold to Englishman John Reece. On board up to twelve guests with 23 crew members.
