Vaccinating children 5-11 years old against coronavirus. Since when?

Looking at the rapid increase in the number of daily infections recorded on Wednesday, November 3, one can look with concern at the youngest Poles. Should children 5-11 years of age get vaccinations against the coronavirus as early as November, or should they begin at the end of the year? Especially since recently American experts have issued a recommendation regarding the vaccination of this group of babies …

As reported on Wednesday, November 3 in the RMF FM morning website, the Medical Council at Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki does not want to wait with the decision to vaccinate children aged 5-11 against coronavirus for the recommendation of the European Medicines Agency. EMA is just considering Pfizer’s request on this matter. And that means vaccination can start after the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control approves US clinical data. Will this happen?

– If they stick, we will strive not to wait for the decision of the European Union, but to introduce it in Poland as soon as possible, using the clinical data that are already available, because they are convincing – told RMF FM Prof. Andrzej Horban, chief adviser to Prime Minister Morawiecki on COVID-19.
