Netflix adaptation put faces on Monkey D. Garp, Koby, Alvida, Helmeppo, Buggy and Arlong
The cast of one piecea live-action adaptation of the hugely popular Japanese manga and anime, continues to take shape. Netflx reported six more additions, including the screen veteran Vincent Regan (The Royals, AD The Bible continues, Strike Back and many others).
One Piece: The new additions to the cast
one piece follows the exploits of a young pirate whose body has taken on the properties of rubber after inadvertently ingesting the devil’s fruit Gom Gom. With the help of his crew, Luffy (or Luffy as he has long been called in Italy) explores the Rotta Maggiore in search of the legendary One Piece treasure, pursuing the dream of becoming the new King of the Pirates. As announced in recent months, Iñaki Godoy was cast for the role of Luffy, while Mackenyu (Pacific Rim: The riot), Emily Rudd (Dynasty), Jacob Romero Gibson (All Rise) And Taz Skylar will be the members of the Straw Hat crew, respectively Roronoa Zoro, Nami, Usopp and Sanji (here the photo-comparison).
As for the new cast additions, Regan will play Vice Admiral of the Navy Monkey D. Garp, Luffy’s grandfather, one of the organization’s most renowned and feared members. Morgan Davies (The Girlfriend Experience) will be Koby, one of the first people Luffy met on his voyage, a Navy vessel captain with straight pink hair. Ilia Isorelýs Paulino (The Sex Lives of College Girls) landed the role of pirate Alvida, a member of the mercenary pirate organization Bagy’s Delivery. Aidan Scott (Between the Devil) will play Helmeppo instead, a Navy lieutenant captain who, after living in the shadow of his powerful father, then expelled from the Navy, was forced to become a service boy along with Koby. Jeff Ward (Hacks) will be Buggy, the ferocious captain of the pirate crew of the same name and the director of Bagy’s Delivery. In the end, McKinley Belcher III (Ozark) will take on the role of Arlong, the tall and muscular man-fish captain of the pirate crew of the same name.
