New trailer for the series What If? gives us a lot of news to discuss before the premiere. But you must have wondered why Tony Stark or Steve Rogers don’t have the votes of their MCU counterparts! We rush with explanations.
Unfortunately, not every actor from the MCU will voice his counterparts on the show. Factors vary, but the reason for both Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evens are similar. They no longer have a contract with Marvel.
It doesn’t look like they will make a comeback in the movies either, although there is a chance for that, however in What If…? we won’t hear them. This is definitely a big loss and a sad piece of news for the fans, because personally I’d rather hear their original voices than their lousy fakes. It doesn’t change the fact that there are definitely a few big names in the animated series, with Chris Hemsworth, Michael Rooker, and the late Chadwick Boseman returning as their heroes.
So to recap: Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, The Collector, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, and Howard Duck are also on the show, but with different voice actors than their MCU movie counterparts. Unfortunately, this is what it looks like and we will have to get used to it.

The creator of the series is AC Bradley. Bryan Andrews is responsible for directing. The narrator of the story is played by actor Jeffrey Wright, who plays the role of The Watcher, a member of the extraterrestrial Uatu race.
The series from the fourth phase of the MCU will debut on Disney + in mid-2021. The first season will consist of 10 episodes. A second season is also planned What If…?
