Łukasz Fabiański: I would like to end my career in England. But we’ll see what happens

– I feel great pride. For at least two reasons. The first is a great success considering how difficult my beginnings were in England. Second – I am aware that there are few Polish footballers who can boast of such a number of matches played in five leading leagues in Europe. Breaking the barrier of three hundred performances was my little goal before this season and I am glad that I will achieve it in a moment – said Fabiański in an interview with “Przegląd Sportowy”.

The 36-year-old goalkeeper has built a good reputation for himself in England and regularly confirms that he can still defend at a very high level. Although Fabiański does not think about the end of his career yet – as he himself pointed out – he revealed where he would like to continue performing. – I would like to end my career in England. But we’ll see what happens, because life can verify any goals. However, I am not going to look too far into the future. I want to represent myself with dignity and play at a sufficiently high level – he said.

Such a vision is nothing unrealistic, as many experienced players have appeared on the Premier League field in recent years, especially as a goalkeeper. The 36-year-old also reminded about it. – If that happens, no one should look at me through the prism of age, but through the prism of skill. I have some good examples in this respect: Edwin Van der Sar, Brad Friedel, Mark Schwarzer. There have been some goalkeepers who have played for many years, he said.
