Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez Rescue Inter Miami’s Draw Against Nashville
The South Americans scored a goal to tie the game after going 2-0 down
The former Barcelona players came to the rescue of Inter Miami. When it seemed that the Florida team would leave Tennessee with a defeat in the First Round of 16 of the Concacaf Champions Cup, Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez appeared to get a tie.
After going down 2-0 on the scoreboard, the captain of Inter Miami, Leo Messi and his bomb reinforcement, Luis Suárez appeared with goals at minute 52 and 90+5 respectively, to rescue an important tie for the Vuelta at home.
Jacob Shaffelburg took the Player of the match award after scoring a double for Nashville. The Canadian midfielder surprised Miami with two locker-room goals. The first came 4 minutes into the match, while the second came with a great goal from the corner one minute into the second half.
During the match, Nashville had opportunities to extend their lead, however, Messi appeared to bring his team closer. The Argentine star, with a goal faithful to the style of him receiving at the edge of the area and defining a cross, scored the first for Miami.
Just when it seemed that the locals would emerge with the victory, the Uruguayan striker appeared with a header to rescue the tie. Suárez appeared on the edge of the six-yard box to finish off a cross from Sergio Busquets and thus make it 2-2.
The Vuelta of this series will be played next Wednesday, March 13 and the winner will face the winner of Monterrey vs Cincinnati.
